Just compare Goldeneye to Eurocom's remake, the poster child for mediocre modern FPS games with no freedom. If you removed the graphics and cutscenes, those games would actually have less to offer than Goldeneye. I just don't get the people who can compare Goldeneye to Call of Duty and Halo and say how lousy it is. Still, for an FPS with so many innovations like sniper rifles, accuracy modelling, and mission objectives, it got a lot of things right.ĭon't get me wrong, I am NOT one of those people who think Goldeneye is the greatest game of all time. Yes, of course there are aspects where it'll fall short like its graphics, A.I., and split-screen multiplayer.
The only gripes I have are the N64 controller and the choppy framerate. Do you think Goldeneye really has aged poorly?įor me, Goldeneye is just as good as it was in 1997, and this is coming from someone who missed out on it in their childhood and didn't play it until 2010.
People like to trash Goldeneye and say how horrible it is now. Lately, there's a growing trend of people trashing classic N64 games, usually by those born after Space Jam came out.
